There is a very dark side to affiliate marketing
Written by Mega Champ on June 22, 2009 – 9:20 am -As mentioned earlier its my first stint of affiliate marketing and I have been reading a lot and I mean a “LOT”. And believe me when i say, people are doing all kinds of crazy stuff to get more sales, more clicks, traffic.
The line between black hat, white hat, grey hat is kind of thin here. I won’t be naming anyone but one thing is sure, it is little difficult to compete with these guys. Its not like you won’t be successful even after doing all your hard work, you certainly will but it will take “TIME” cos seriously, as you are going by the book of rules.
Book of rules will stand for the usual stuff like if you want to promote a offer then :
1. Choose a niche you want to work on.
2. Prepare Landing pages
3.Write articles, submit to article directories and wait for them to get accepted.
4. Do some PPC marketing
5. Find some long tail keywords for your niche and try to capitalize on that.
6. Wait for results to pour in.
The dark side
1.Choose around 100 niche
2. Buy a vps server.
3. Scrape everything related to your niche from websites, feeds and what not, store it in database.
4. Modify the content here and there with a script obviously like replacing some common used words with their synonyms.
5. Put the offers in the content you are promoting.
6. Run a script and set up 100’s of wordpress blogs for eah keyword in your niche with the content stored in database you earlier scraped.
7. And let the money flow
So, what do we understand from this is that, results will be instant in the “dark side” steps and probably you will have to wait for results in the white hat techniques.
Well which side to choose??? In my personal opinion, you should do a mix of both, some white some dark and see what works for you. And also it depends on upto which extent you are ready to go to have success in affiliate marketing.
