Breaks in three submarine cables which link Europe and the Middle East have disrupted Internet and international telephone services in parts of the Middle East and South Asia, officials said on Saturday.

When i read this, i regretted all the calls i made to customer care of my ISP(BSNL) regarding the crappy internet speed i was getting this weekend. Well, my ISP was also unaware of the problem(i am not surprised).

And the news said the slow speeds will continue till 25dec, which is pretty bad. Lets hope it gets fixed before that.

Last month i was persuaded to put some affiliate advertisement in place of adsense ads in my blog, thinking that i will earn more then what i am getting from adsense. Joined clickbank and started displaying some affiliate 125*125 ads. At that time traffic to my blog was around 2000 visits per day, which i thought was enough to bring me some affiliate sales.

But i was proven wrong, i kept the ad for almost 2 weeks and no sales came through not even a lead. And on top of that i was loosing my adsense clicks. People were clicking on the affiliate ad but were not buying the product.

I know that affiliate sales will earn much more more then adsense ads, hence they are not easy to get. But all said and done, according to me one should try affiliates once you have gained a decent amount of traffic. Well let say 10,000 visits per day, will be the time when i will again try with affiliate ads, till then adsense+kontera will do the job.

I am a big fan of Firefox and been using it for almost 2 years now, and was pretty happy with it. Until now, from past 2 months Firefox( version 3.0.4), is crashing a lot. There is hardly any day passed when i open it and it didn’t crashed once. And it is getting irritating day by day, specially when i go a website with video embeds in it, 90% of times it crashes.

Every time i submit the crash report to Mozilla in hope they figure out the cause of the problem. Lets see if they come out any cure for this.

I visit various forums and big blogs everyday to see what all new stuff happening in universe of internet. While visiting, i always pick up and read blog of the person who either commented on a blog or had his/her website address in his/her forum signature. And till today i have hardly found a blog which was not worth visiting.

Over the time i have experienced that small time bloggers write with their heart. Language in their posts is very polite and they take extra care to avoid any mistake in their posts, which may hamper the readers experience. More importantly they talk in a language which is easily understandable, as they are yet to learn the expertise in writing posts(posts in which everything seem right yet they look very artificial).

Even their mistakes seems like we everyday in our blogs, which indeed brings a personal touch. And I never forgets to leave a comment in their posts, mentioning how good their posts was, why? because we all remember how excited we were to see first comments in our blog.

Well there are many more reasons, as i consider myself a tiny blogger too, i relate to more to blogger like me

Well to be honest i was lured into putting adsense ads all around my one website hoping i will earn more money. As my website is around 3 months old, it was not giving me 100′s of dollars a day but yes with around minimum 1000 page views per day, i was getting around $1-$2 on a daily basis. Which is not bad for a new website, as i am not very expert in monetizing my site.

I write my own content and really want to help people by my site. And seeing the traffic increasing on my site gives me assurance that the work i am doing is being noticed. But yesterday i was checking out my site and thought, if i am a person coming from outside and reading posts, is my reading experience hampered by all the ads around the posts. And the answer was a a big “YES“, ads block ruin the user experience if not done correctly.

Personally if i visit some blog and posts are stuffed with ads, it really puts me off, and makes a impression that the guy is only writing for money. So, i decided to remove almost every ad sense unit from my blog, just keeping one small unit, which will not hinder the post reading in any way.

So, no ads on that website until i learn to do it in a proper way. And about ads on this site, well they will also move in coming days.
