Well this is a problem isn’t it, for publishers in India, first there is no direct deposit option from adsense, neither it is having the option to send the money to paypal. Only option remains the check which takes aweful lot of time to reach. On top of that now these checks are taking almost a month to get clear, for me atleast.

So, to get one month earnings, you have to wait almost 2 months before it actually lands in your account.

Considering the no. of adsense publishers in India, its high time Google introduced the direct deposit, so that this turn around time decreases to a great extent.

Applied for AzoogleAds last week and got the following mail today :

Well I heard lots of good things about them, so wanted to try them out. But it seems like I have to wait for “some” time before it can happen.

In my opinion there no stupid job then a critic, what low lives. What kind of life is that when only you can do to earn money is by criticising the work of people on which they put their life out.

And as one happen to be a famous critic, his or her opinion will make or break some person’s years of work. What injustice, and the problem is these people being critic, they mostly can criticise the things. The day stop they doing that, its over right?. That’s what they are being paid for . So, once again in full voice “Up Yours @#$@#$ Critics”

I am not against constructive criticism but that is a rarely found these days.

There is something wrong with the new stat plugin from wordpress. When i saw that wordpress launched their official stat plugin , i grabbed then and there. But from few days I am seeing that its not giving out proper results. There is one website of mine blogpalmpre.com, it gets almost min 1000 page views per day, but the wordpress stat is showing 0 from past 2 days.

So, there has to be something wrong with the plugin. So, if you also installed that plugin and seeing some strange results, remember you are not alone .

As I have been sharing earlier that my first stint with Affiliate marketing is going on and its little/very tough to crack that first sale. Its been a week and I got around 100 clicks from 40,000 AD impressions or so. Well that beings said, nobody out of those 100 clicks bought any stuff or not even signed for anything, other wise I would have got a lead. So, I really wonder how these PPC guys make money, its gives a impressions that if you don’t begin with a decent ad campaign, making a mark in affiliate marketing can be tough.

Anyways friends my battle goes on, my target is to get atleast 2 sales in my fist ever month of affiliate marketing and till now signs are not that good but still I have 3 weeks left and plenty of work can be done in the meantime.

If you go around and ask in any webmaster forum or any big blogger that “i should choose which niche to start a blog or website in” . Everyone will tell you that, start a blog in a niche or area which you like, as your interest will keep that blog going on. Otherwise if you don’t have interest, the blog will die pretty soon. And its damn right but we are missing a big point here, the “Money Factor”.

Let me give you an example, i run a iPhone blog because i just love that device. Its almost 6 months since i started the blog and here are few statistics about it :

Google Page Rank : PR 3
Alexa Rank : Will hit the 100,000 thousand mark pretty soon.
Unique Visitors Per Day: 3000 and above
Revenue Generated Till Now: $300
Hours I Put Every Day To Update The Blog : Around 2-3
Backlinks : 2600 And Growing

So, should i consider the blog a success, hell yeah. I like writing posts on iPhone and by doing so i am earning money as well. Pretty cool right.

But here is one food for thought, what if i had started a blog in little high paying niche and put in the same effort. I really think if i had achieved all the stats given above for that high paying niche, my earnings could have been much much better.

So, do i regret starting iPhone blog, well absolutely not, the only problem is no matter how much effort i put in that blog, i wont be able to earn a decent amount of money for the simple fact that its just not a high paying niche.

I got so many domains lying around with me but as I am a full time employee i can only spend max 2-3 hours per day in blogging. Can’t outsource much of the work as I am not that cash rich. So, here i am left with in dilemma to choose between something i like or something that will give me more financial security. And in these time of recession and job insecurity i really see making money online a pretty good backup if anything goes wrong.

So, should i choose a high paying niche and start working on it and give little less time to iPhone blog? . Let me know your views and experience?

If you are in India and looking for how much it will cost doing a twitter sms update on Airtel, well its Rs 3 INR/sms . Nowdays when std calls are dropping to 50 paise(bsnl annouced it) 3Rs per sms seems pretty huge. Anyways there are more ways, get a gprs or 3G connection and start twittering unlimited from your mobile or iPhone.

I am a member of a popular freelancing website and whenever i find some free time, i go there to get some projects which inturn increases my programming knowledge and also gives me some extra cash. But even if i can’t pick up any projects due to time constraints i still check out the project listings once in 2 days.

Off lately i am noticing a huge increase of a trend, someone Mr Fraud will come and post a project “i want a clone of website abc.com(gives the name website)” or ” i want a clone of website like abc.com, please go there and register and check out all the functionalties before bidding” etc etc.

And that Mr Fraud will always be new to the freelancing website and wont be having any reviews at all. I am not saying that reviews are very important and every new project publisher is fraud, I am just talking about a breed, who will post the projects like mentioned by me above. And Mr Fraud also gives out a huge budget for the project like for simple website he will put some $1000, which is pretty much tempting for all the programmers. And they keep on coming, visiting the website given by Mr Fraud, registering, placing bids etc.

What these programmers don’t know that all Mr Fraud is doing is just increasing the page views for his new website, or increasing the no. of registered users or even he is increasing the number of leads for some products he is promoting(as he told programmers to register and stuff). So, no programmer is getting that project as Mr Fraud never comes back and moves on to another freelancing website or to some other dirty tricks of his.

And I am not saying all this by looking at a 1-2 projects, i have been around that freelancing website for almost 2 years now, and almost everyday some new Mr Fraud comes up with atleast 5-6 projects on that website alone. And for sure he must be doing this stuff for lots of freelancing sites.

Was I a victim of this, well yes in starting i did get tricked, but with time i learned and today by seeing the project and description I can make out(with 99% hit rate) that Mr Fraud is back with some new scam of his.

There has to something wrong with alexa, earlier it used to update the rank in every 4-5 days. But now its almost 3-4 weeks since Alexa updated the rankings.

I personally consider Alexa rank a very important parameter to rate your blog success and i keep track of it religiously. But don’t know whats happening now. If any one is having idea about this please let me know.

Finally i removed the alexa rank and google page rank tracking addon from firefox. It was turning out to be such a bad habit of checking out the page rank, alexa rank for each and every website i visit, including mine.

And even though i know the page rank gets updated after a quarter or so(as i have heard), still first thing i will do, is checking out page rank of my blogs. Finally i got over this stupidity and removed the addon, and now i feel better:-).

From now, i will check out the stats only once in a week just to see the progress
