If you are one of regulars on Digital Point forums, you must have noticed that there is significant increase in the threads where people are selling links or ads or websites. Although DP is a webmaster forum and you should expect these types of thread but seriously I go there everyday and see people selling links on their websites on dirt cheap prices.

May be all this is due to the economic recession the world is facing and publishers around the world are also hit hard by this. As almost every PPC advertiser is paying low for clicks and hence the earnings are going down the drain. So, they have to make up for the lost money.

If you would have noticed my previous post about Alexa Rank Not Updating, you must be knowing how frustrated i was with the rank not getting updated for so long.

Well today it finally updated, and all i can gather about the behavior that Alexa surely increased their rank update period from 2 weeks to almost 4 weeks or a month.

Please Let me know if anyone came across a official post from Alexa regarding this.

Click Forensics earlier released a report which shows that click frauds are at record time high and increasing at a alarming rate. It is also reported that 30% of click fraud is coming from automated bots and 70% is manual :-O , which should be pretty scary for advertisers.

World wide economic meltdown is considered to be one of the main reason behind the increased click frauds, which is causing advertisers to shy away from bidding high amounts on their ads. And inturn publishers are seeing a steep decrease in their earnings. Even my earnings are down by 50% and there is nothing which can be done.

Well to over come the slump in earnings i am working extra hard on my websites to generate more and more good content. And will wait for earnings to get back to normal again.

This is as per my experience, one of my blog was ranking pretty good in google for some keywords, which were also part of my blog title. Then one day while installing a plugin i changed the title to something else and didn’t include the previous plugins. And in the next week my blog was out of google rankings, nowhere to be seen for the keywords it used to come in front page of google.


I immediately modified the title to include the original keywords as well and it took almost 2 weeks for everything to get normal.


So just a heads up for all if you are looking to change your website/blog title, change it carefully or you might end up loosing your hard earned position in google and hence some good amount of traffic.
